I still grieve…
She’s gone,
Leaving with me,
Sweet scented memories
Of childhood gone by.
Alas! Had I lived them more,
Relished them more,
Knowing never to return, times fly!
Those loving caresses,
That lilting lullaby.
Who should bring them back to me?
That voice, that touch, I grew up with.
The lap I slept my dreams in.
I know not where she went that day?
Took with her,
The arms I cried my sorrows in.
What words can relate,
The magic of the stories she told?
Amusing, teaching, guiding,
Words of knowledge,
Words of depth manifold!
Who can give the love she gave?
Her eyes spoke volumes, sweet
Was her smile that coaxed me on,
To stand on my own two feet!
I tottered, I fell,
She never let me out of her sight.
Her fingers were there,
To hold onto tight.
She gave me all that I have today,
She made me all that I am today.
Now, just a spitting image of her
Stands there in the mirror,
But the soul I loved,
She took along,
my peace.
Left me longing,
On my knees.
Then,if I’d called,
She’d be there for me,
Within moments, at my side!
Now, if I call she can’t hear me,
Farther than afar,
She’s gone with the tide!
Into the silence she passed away,
With the smile I grew up seeing.
Left behind me and my heart,
So huge a loss,
Still grieving!
I suffer these blues some times and especially on Mother's Day I truly miss the most precious person of my life. Cherish the love you have, all the lucky ones who still enjoy your mother's unconditional love.
I miss you Mumma!!
This poem is a tribute in her memory...And also an entry at the most thoughtful contest organised by BlogAdda
Wishing and hoping that like they say, she's watching me from above and reading my post ...."Mumma I would have loved to continue bringing home to you small little gifts..which you readily accepted with a smile! I hope they told u how special you were to me..You'll find some cute ones hereinbelow from pringOO.."

Holy Ash
Brought a tear to my eye!!
I'm glad you chose to revive the emotions by bringing it out of the archives and sharing it once again with us all!! :)
Just one line in poem, I thought it could be better-
"I know not where she went that day?"...may be you could have written it- "I don't know where she went that day?", but again, poetry gives you the luxury of playing with words :).
a very nyc poem ...she is always there with you ,so keep smiling always
I am sure the memories of your mom do bring you closer to your mom. Mom's are always with us. To care and love.
One thing I did after reading this was to hug and kiss my mother. She was startled for a moment, but at the same time, very happy.
Thank you so much, yaar.
