M for Marriage

And the two tied the knot in holy matrimony

Began a life anew

Chores and bed they shared now

Diligently stuck to their vows

Ever and always to the spouse true

For it wasn’t just a ceremony

God had brought the souls together

Heavens blessed them forever

In bliss to live their lives with love

Joy and prosperity showered from above

Knelt the soul-mates before God

"Let your light flow through us lord

May our togetherness grow day by day

Nectar sweet and seamless we pray

Ought not the world to lose faith in it

Precious is this matrimonial bond

Questioning not the need for it

Reveling in how it makes two hearts grow fond"

So together they made a house their home

To many an example, an envy to some

Undying was the commitment in their relationship

Very emulative was their friendship

With great patience, brick by brick, they laid

X  they marked and wrote on their own door

"You're welcome", the board said

Zone of Love’ – from top to floor!

Excellent ABC poem and you have highlighted the abc's of a successful marriage very well :)

I know for sure that this is exactly how you have prayed in real life and God bless you!!

Girl you have succeeded in making your marriage happy!!

May light flow through you both and may your togetherness grow and prosper day by day!!

Hugs!!
ROG,
Child marriage is most definitely illegal over here too..LOL but where did I say that they married right away? They grew up and tied the knot at the correct time..:D
Dear Nanka,
you;ve brought tears to my eyes. You are most kind and sweet to me. It is only with blessings from you and other elders that I can dream of a happy and prosperous life ahead.
And I want to tell you that I need you with me too, forever and always!
Mwahs n hugs

Wow - my son loves writing from the letters of a word listed down the page (forget the name for this) but I have never seen it done with the alphabet - sweet poem!

Let me add:
"Y" would they leave the mark to door

"Z"one of love - from top to floor
Hey Leo,
Thanku so much for your wishes and I am very happy to know that youo liked what I penned! :D

@ Sambarman: I think you've some visiting my blog for the first time? Thanku so much for the kind comment and looking forward to seeing more comments from u..:D TC

@ Lenora and Harini:
ABC poetry is a very easy genre of poetry. Just don't think too much..Let poetry flow through..:D
I love penning these..:)) Thanku so much for ur appreciation
Thanku Swathi.

@ Nalini: ur absolutely right, we can easily write a seperate glossary on marriage besides ABC and there are indeed more shades to that togetherness than only love.
But I sometimes like to avoid visiting the harsh facts of life and look at the brighter side!
@ OMus: Can't thank u enough for spotting the error. I dont know how I could have ever missed a letter. the poetry would have remianed flawed if u hadnt written to me. Thanks a ton for that.
Have added the missing line. Tell me if u approve it! :D

That was very creative. Though I do not understand marriage and its commitment, I loved the concept of ABC poetry.

However, why did they mark "X" on their door? I didn't get that one.
Dear Nethra,
thanks for taking your time out to read my piece. many have different takes on the instituition of marriage and this poem doesnt argue on that. I believe if one doesnt percieve the beauty in a certain work of art then one should try not discuss it! LOL..
Marriage is also a work of art to me where you need to put in alot of love and commitment..
You see an X mark on a treasure map too indicating the destination where you may hit gold. The couple marked a similar X on their door!!!
:D
Hope u liked my explanation..:D

Guess you misunderstood what I said. What I meant by "don't understand marriage" is I'm not married yet so won't understand what exactly it is until i get into it.

Anyway, I left a comment here not for the heck of it but I really liked the ABC poetry concept and I also did not understand that "X" thing. Well, your explanation was really good. I understood the meaning behind X mark. Thanks once again! :)

This is innovative, lovely and speaks every word about marriage. Probably I can take some lessons from here, when I plan something! ;)
