Romeo And Juliet

He sits on a stile
Waiting futile
For his lady in red
Whose meeting instead
The grocer, the baker,
And the shoe- maker

Romeo in despair
waits for the lady fair
He strikes a pose
Holding a rose
He's day-dreaming
of her face, gleaming

Juliet breezes past
her gait is fast
She's got chores to do
And has no clue
That love awaits
At her own gates

Romeo with the rose
Is left morose
But he's not a quitter
And will not bitter
That she takes no notice
Next day, Romeo comes with a lotus!
