PERU

Did You Know?

Guavas are fruits belonging to the genus Psidium which means 'Pomegranate' in Latin and there are about a 100 such species of tropical plants.

At the time of the Spanish explorations the guava fruit was first found at Peru and in today's times the same guava fruit is widely recognised as PERU in Marathi.
Is there any chance that the colloquial name may have originated due to its native roots?

My 2 year old son has learnt to call this fruit by both the names, Guava in English & Peru in Marathi.
For those who wish to SEE the fruit for clarification on exactly which fruit we are discussing, here is a pic'...

LOL!

The national Flag of Philippines is quite possibly the most seasoned flag in the entirety of the Pacific. It is part of the way enlivened by the flag of the Katipunan, a gathering that went against the Spanish government that managed over the islands during the pilgrim time frame. The flag's plan shows serious areas of strength for a from different countries, albeit the flag's likeness to that of the US is a happenstance. The Philippines flag is significant in that it is one of the main flags on the planet that is shown topsy turvy when the country is at war.
